about Ramiro
For the past twenty years, Ramiro Quezada has been a popular piano player at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, one of the few 5-star hotels in Canada. He has played at several other major Vancouver hotels and entertained thousands of guests and movie stars who have come to visit and work in "Hollywood North".
Many Canadians know Ramiro as the pianist for Vicky Gabereau's show, where he accompanied famous singers and played with some excellent musicians over the course of 150 television shows.
Still others have met Ramiro on the high seas. Ramiro first played piano on the Love Boat in 1984 and since then has worked on all the major cruise lines. During the last five 5 years he has mainly been with the Radisson Seven Seas ships. Other ships he has appeared on are the Fair Princess, Dawn Princess, Royal Princess, Sea Princess, Pacific Princess — all the ships he calls "beautiful ladies of the sea".
Ramiro Quezada came to Canada in 1984 from Mexico. His father, Fernando Quezada Galindo, was a pianist in Mexico, and Ramiro trained at The National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City.
The Sutton Place Hotel is the hotel of choice for many movie stars and celebrities. Ramiro has had the pleasure to meet John Travolta, Richard Dreyfus, Tony Danza, Oscar Peterson, Christopher Plummer and Ruben Blades. One night he acompanied Rosie O'Donnell, whom he calls a very funny lady. He has befriended the famous Vancouver Canucks and radio personality David Pratt among many others.
Ramiro's warm and welcoming personality endears him to people wherever he works. As he puts it, "Professionalism and the will to instill happiness among guests are at the forefront of my mind. Playing requests, a simple smile to make guests feel welcome, and in the case of an emergency, I have jokes... and I will use them!"
